Braun

In conjunction with Marie T. Hermann’s exhibit, Simone DeSousa Gallery is also pleased to present an exhibit of works by Danish glass artist, Pernille Braun: What Comes Down. The installation will be exhibited in Gallery 2 space and consists of thirty-seven glass cylinders hung upright in a long, musical sequence. The two-layered cylinders are placed in a repetitive arrangement where the course of colour, scale and structure creates a diverse pattern of process and opposites.

Pernille Braun (born Copenhagen, Denmark) lives and works in Copenhagen. She studied at Royal College of Art in London where she received an MFA in 2008. Braun’s works are part of several private and public collections including The Danish Museum of Art and Design (now Designmuseum Danmark), Copenhagen-DK, The Danish Arts Foundation, DK, Hempel Glasmuseum, Nykoebing Sj.-DK, Victoria & Albert Museum, London-UK, Bornholm Art Museum, Gudhjem-DK, and the University of Art and Design, Helsinki-FI.

What Comes Down also opens to the public on Saturday, May 2, with a reception from 6 pm to 9 pm, and runs through June 20.
