Simone DeSousa Gallery is pleased to present\u00a0Stitches<\/em>, a 40-page limited-edition color gallery book\u00a0published on the occasion of Mark Newport\u2019s solo exhibition Stitches<\/em><\/strong>, on view at Simone DeSousa Gallery in Detroit, Michigan, from January 13 – March 3, 2018. The book includes a new essay by\u00a0Nicole Archer,\u00a0Assistant Professor in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art at the San Francisco Art Institute, where her teaching explores politics and aesthetics through close examinations of style, embodiment, and desire.\u00a0Archer researches contemporary art and design, with an emphasis in modern textile and garment histories.<\/p>\n
