Katie MacDonald was born, raised, and educated in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After completing studies in metalsmithing and photography at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, she arrived in Michigan in 2005 to study at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Katie has always had a personal connection to the photographic image–as the daughter of a photographer, she spent many hours of her young life loitering around her father’s darkroom, forging a connection to photography that propels her creative process and greatly influences the jewelry and sculpture she makes today. Katie presently teaches courses in metalsmithing and sculpture at Wayne State University, and maintains a studio in Plymouth, MI.
Works coming soon.
