Rachel Reynolds Z is painter who lives and works in Hamtramck, MI. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Creative Studies, Detroit in 2000, Reynolds Z went on to receive a Masters of Visual Arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts, Montepelier, VT. Rachel’s practice describes a unique and intimate association between public and private space. Her work is a type of psycho-geography of encounter where ‘experience’ is a mark, a memo a possibility… She looks, studies, jots, records and then represents the shifting qualities of her experience within the urban environment. Her work represents a dynamic network of urban contingencies; where moments of instability, transience and chance come to rub elbows with equally significant episodes of criticality, generosity and connection.
Works coming soon.
