“My work is an honest reflection of daily enterprise in my home. Objects we use and reuse, motions of self-care that become ritualistic. I’m curious about the habitual engagements we have with common objects and how they work for us or against us. Adoption of both traditional and contemporary printmaking applications allow me the flexibility to address these themes.”
Andrea Eckert is foundationally a printmaker who integrates painting, video, and installations within her practice. Eckert is co-director, curator, and foreman of Holding House in Southwest Detroit.
