FLARA is a collaboration between Sara Nishikawa and Flor Widmar.

Sara Nishikawa was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. After completing her BA in Psychology at Loyola Marymount University and MA in Visual Arts at California State University Northridge, Sara moved to Michigan to pursue an MFA in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Arts. She completed her MFA in 2017 and currently lives and works in Detroit. She is the co-director of Tessellate Residency and Gallery as well as the director of Mostly Butter.

​Flor Widmar was born in California and was raised in Chihuahua, Mexico. She earned her MFA form Cranbrook Academy of Art and BFA from Sierra Nevada College. Flor has had the opportunity to expand her work in art Residencies at Guldager in Denmark, Tainan National University of The Arts, Sierra Nevada College Summer Arts and at Penland Arts and Craft School. Her work has been in various solo and group exhibitions, domestically and internationally. She currently resides in Kansas.
