Megan Heeres

In Never Not Nature, the Detroit-based artist Megan Heeres undertook a two-month residency in the MSU Broad Art Lab, collaborating with the university’s Surplus Store and Recycling Center (SSRC). The premise of the residency was to “upcycle” material that would otherwise end up in landfills into a public exhibition. Through these materials, Heeres explores the distinctions and connections between the natural world and the manufactured one.  This collaboration compelled viewers to consider the discarded as a part of their modern landscape.
