Cedric Tai

Prints

2020

Risograph Print

17 x 12.5 inches

Hand signed and stamped by the artist

Risograph prints of existing artworks, forming a new artwork, none of the prints (of usually two images) have names. They were produced while the artist was in residency at Casa Lü in Mexico City this year.

In this series of experimental prints, Tai turned his series of “Bad Artworks” into “vibrant new works, improvisations of color and texture by saving and re-running proofs through, and not pre-planning anything.”

Born in Detroit, Cedric Tai is an artist and educator who grew up in Northville, Michigan and received his MFA from the Glasgow School of Art. Cedric is a 2009 Kresge Artist Fellow in the Visual Arts, and currently lives and maintains his art practice in Los Angeles.
